Who controls the community fund?

The fund is not controlled by a single person or organization.

Our goal is to establish a collective governance model involving independent representatives from both the Haitian diaspora and Haiti itself. Major decisions will require multiple independent approvals, ensuring that no individual can access or use the fund on their own.

Signatories will be selected from diverse backgrounds across the diaspora and local communities to prevent any single group or interest from influencing decisions.

No single person will be able to access or release funds alone. Multiple independent approvals will be required before any use of the fund.

Contributions and funded projects will be publicly tracked to strengthen transparency and build trust.

How is the community fund financed?

A portion of Rasin’s revenue is allocated to the community fund.

The goal is to turn part of the economic activity generated by remittances into a source of funding for local development and economic opportunities, without compromising the service’s primary mission: helping families receive money quickly and easily.

Will my family receive the money as usual?

Yes.

Rasin operates like a traditional money transfer service. Recipients receive their money directly into their mobile wallet (MonCash, NatCash, or potentially other partner solutions in the future).

The goal is not to change how families receive money, but to make every transfer do more.

Why use Rasin instead of another service?

Traditional services allow you to send money to your family.

Rasin allows you to do the same while helping fund initiatives that create opportunities in Haiti.

How are projects selected?

Projects supported by the community fund will need to meet criteria related to transparency, collective benefit, and long-term economic impact.

The goal is to support initiatives that create real opportunities, such as vocational training, entrepreneurship, income-generating activities, and projects that benefit local communities.

The specific selection process and criteria will be developed with input from the community.

Will contributions be publicly visible?

Yes.

Transparency is one of the founding principles of the project.

Contributions to the community fund and the projects it supports will be publicly accessible, allowing anyone to track how funds are used and measure their impact.

Is Rasin available yet?

No.

Rasin is currently being built and validated.

Before a wider launch, we will run a limited pilot with a small group of users to test the service and gather early feedback.

- the country you send money from;
- how often you send money to Haiti;
- the amount you usually send.This information helps us better understand the needs of the diaspora and design the service.We do not collect any banking information, identity documents, or sensitive data through this website.## 3. Purpose and Legal BasisYour data is used exclusively to:- register you on the Rasin waitlist;
- keep you informed about the project's progress, the pilot phase, and the launch;
- analyze sending habits on an aggregated basis to help design the service.The legal basis for this processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by ticking the box in the form. You may withdraw it at any time (see section 7).Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.## 4. Data RetentionYour data is kept for the duration of the project's development and for a maximum of 3 years after your last contact or interaction with us, in line with the French data protection authority's (CNIL) recommendations. You may request deletion at any time before then.If the project is discontinued, all waitlist data will be deleted.## 5. Hosting and International TransfersThis website is hosted with Carrd (Carrd Inc., United States). Data submitted through the form is therefore processed on servers located outside the European Union. This transfer is covered by the safeguards provided under the GDPR for US-based providers (standard contractual clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, depending on the provider's current commitments).The website also loads resources from third-party services to display content (Cloudinary for images and videos, Unsplash for some illustrations). These services may process technical data (such as your IP address) as needed to deliver the content.## 6.
